Huge transformation, Volkswagen under the sign of electricity

Volkswagen has embarked on a real revolution, rarely has a group of such magnitude made such a decisive transformation. When all its technologies were based on internal combustion engines and fossil fuels (we remember the Dieselgate and its famous car scandal), the manufacturer massively invested in the electric car sector and explored all the avenues for progress in terms of batteries or fuel cells.

For Volkswagen, the news is indeed about electricity. From 2020, the ID. range will see its first model confront the market. This ID.3 marks a milestone in the brand's history, the group wishes to promote a new brand community with this new electric car, before as much enthusiasm as for the Beetle or the Golf in their time.

The group wants to put a zero-emission compact for sale, opening a chapter in which Volkswagen will launch twenty 100% electric models worldwide by 2025 and sell one million units per year before that date.

Volumes that reflect Volkswagen's desire to democratize these technologies to the greatest number of people. More than ever, design will be a key factor in the user experience and brand loyalty.

To achieve its objectives, Volkswagen is investing heavily. Its development plan for electric power, autonomous cars and new services has been allocated 44 billion euros, which will be mobilized by 2023.

While Volkswagen plans to convert all types of buyers to electromobility, Volkswagen's ambitious strategy on the 100% electric issue must not overshadow the offensive on current technologies.

Volkswagen is also in the news with the arrival of the New Passat and the T-Cross in dealerships. The brand continues to expand at 360° and is not abandoning any segment, since with the Passat, it brings the world of sedans to life with unprecedented technological content.

This is enough to make a big hit with key accounts, SMEs, very small businesses, craftsmen, shopkeepers and professionals... in short, with all their potential customers.

Thus, by 2030, all models will be electrified. In 2020, the next Golf will introduce light hybridisation at 48 V.

Thanks to this innovation and controlled cost, Volkswagen is making the hybrid available to a very wide range of customers.
